Recently i went to Cameron trip with my friend. For certain people, Cameron is a being a
boring place to go. Especially teenager; reason very simple, because the impression of that area for them is boring. Beside there also do not have much amusement park to
enjoy the games. However u still can find a lot of fun if u know how to explore the natural area. Below is a raft proposal for 2 days 1 night weekend trip for your reference.
Day 1 : after enjoy your lovely breatfast, turn yourselve to North South Highway.
Basically there are 2 ways to get up there. The new road is exit from Simpang Pulai toll. After the toll , first traffic light turn right. so as second traffic light also turn the same direction. New road will take around 45min. For my experience, new road is more safe & wider. U can straight drive up to the other side of the hill, compare to the old road which turn left hand side after traffic light from the Tapah toll, old road is more shadow & dangerous. But old road you can experience a lot of natural tropical sightseeing include waterfall, orang asli house & old forest envoirement. Perhaps u can stop by and buy some souvenir or local fruints at road side.
U should reach there by noontime. After checking in your hotel, i suggest you take your lunch by eating those road side food . Now there got a lot of road side market along the way, all market surround by variety of road side junk food or hill side food. You will found steam corn, roasted corn, steam ubi kayu, fried mushroom, strawberry with honey and others. I try some, honestly all also taste good. You can start do some shopping at those local market while enjoying your lunch. After lunch, you can go to some park like strawberry park or flower garden around hill side. Sometimes when we go to trip. Try keep ourselve relax & good mood; even though all the thing are similar. Try to enjoy the moment with your family or friends there.
Dinner time will be another good program for the organizer to arrange. Now Cameron got
a lot of restaurant to serve tourist with variety of food like steamboat, western food or local food. But i think steamboat will be the most preferable choice. Most of the tourist will prepare themselve. Is another gathering time.
After dinner time, there still got some place to go, which is the pasar malam at Brinchang area. The night market only held at saturday night, sunday night & public holiday night.
Not surprise if the food & stuff which sell there is similar to day time market. But i found out that some of the thing is cheaper than day time market. And you might find out some surprise at there. Thats why the night market attack a lot of people & tourist.
Day 2: After breatfast, i will recommend you go a place call BOH factory & tea lounge. Is at a heavy traffic junction (which opposite by bees farm), after turn in you will be driving around the tea farm hill side road. Not easy to drive, but you have to follow the shadow road to the end. After 15min you will see a modern full height glass surround building at the middle of mountain. Beside the tea lounge is the tea factory. Tourist are encourage to have a quick tour at the factory, to understand the process of a tea leaf. After tour, you wont miss to have a good time at the tea lounge. The tea lounge is divided to 2 part, either you can sit at open air or internal lounge. The design is very simple, with combination of some material like bamboo, glass, metal, directly bring in the external natural ambience to lounge. My recommend is stay at this place as long as you can. There are a lot of customer enjoy tea, reading book, or chatting around here. Is a nice place to spend your day.
After tea farm, i think is final round for your shopping trip before leaving. Of cause you still can have some visit to different farm.
When you back to Tapah / Simpang Pulai, i perfer there will be one final place to hang around – Bidor. It situated at the middle of the two town. At there tourist usually like to stop by to taste the most famous food – Duck Drunk Stick Mee. Beside it, you also can buy a lof of local fruits & local junk food around there. I believe your car will be full of food at this moment.
As summary, Cameron highland is a place to spend some good time with your family or friends by experience natural sightseeing, visiting some farm, enjoying road side food, buying a lot of cheap & good things. If you can arrange properly, its a memorable trip.
